Same As You Local Link

"We are not expecting to know all the answers, but if we don’t know, we will find someone who does." - Local Area Co-ordinator

The Same As You Local Link (SAYLL) has been running in Aberdeen since 2004 and currently is a two-year pilot in the Northfield and Bridge of Don areas of Aberdeen and has supported around 150 people. They had their second anniversary on 1st November 2006.

The service is a direct result of a review by the Scottish Executive (Same as You?) in 2000, which concluded that people with learning disabilities and their carers had difficulty in obtaining information about services.

SAYLL, which is an Australian concept, was formed as a local area co-ordination service to support people with learning disabilities, families and carers to access mainstream facilities and resources in the community.

SAYLL is jointly managed by Inspire and a project board comprising NHS Grampian and Aberdeen City Council.
