Inspire - Partnership Through Life

Hi my name is Kirsty.

I am 23 years old and I live in Kintore. I have attended Inspire’s Rural Support Service two days a week for about the last four years. It used to be one-to-one support but we now attend in groups which is great. I was not looking forward to this at first and was very unsure about it, but now I like it a lot better and it is much more fun. I enjoy meeting other people and making new friends.

We have formed a weekly printing workshop at the social support group where we do screen printing, litho cutting and cave art. It is great fun and helps me with ideas for college, where I am working towards an SVQ in Textile Crafts. It gives me the opportunity to be very creative! We are hoping some of the art will be exhibited locally which will be really exciting.

On the other days at the group I enjoy reading and reviewing books. At the weekends I love to go cycling and swimming which keeps me fit and healthy. I am learning new skills all the time with the group and enjoy the independence it is giving me.
