Respite:

Inspire's two respite services are based in Ellon and Inverurie in Aberdeenshire. Support is provided for up to two people at a time in each service, ensuring a homely environment in which individual needs can be best met.

The service at Ellon operates on a full-time basis throughout the year, is adapted for people with physical disabilities and is available, on different dates, to both adults and children (from 5 years old). The service at Inverurie is currently a part-time one, from Thursday until Monday every week, and is available to adults who do not have a physical disability.

The Respite service aims to provide support which considers and responds, as far as possible, to individual needs and preferences: eg a 'break' for the individual and/or their carer, opportunities to develop essential life-skills for the future and the chance to meet new people and try new activities.

The service also aims to meet various support needs by offering planned stays on a regular basis, weekend and holiday breaks and, on occasion, unplanned 'emergency' support.
